Cockroaches are mostly found in houses and have created a profile of being both unpleasant and unhygienic. They come in different shapes and sizes. Common breeds are the Australian cockroach, American cockroach, German cockroach and the oriental cockroach. Not all cockroaches stay indoors some also prefer the outdoor. If the environment is suitable for them they will multiply and inconvenience the homeowners. It is always good to make sure you have taken the right measures in ensuring you keep them away. Since one cannot simply chase them away by word of mouth, certain ways have been created to aid in controlling their presence. The following are tips that will help you control the presence of cockroaches in your home and get rid of them.
Pest control insecticide. They can be found in different forms. They are mostly in the form of sprays and baits. One uses the spray on entry points of the house to prevent others from getting in and those getting out to be affected by the spray. Use the spray on small openings and cracks to get those hiding inside. Baits are mostly found as sticky glues. One can place these in the common habitat areas of cockroaches like dark corners and specific paths to trap them down. Some insecticides come in powder form, once the cockroach goes over the powder after a few minutes their functionality stops. Get an insecticide the next time, and you will be in control.
Proper sanitation. This means keeping the house clean at all times. Always keep the house and compound clean. The the sink should be cleaned and avoid piling up dirty dishes for a long time. Throw away garbage from the trash bin every morning to maintain cleanliness.
Food is also a basic need to them. Once they get this need soughted they will keep coming back in the house for long. Dirty places are a source of their food. Presence of smaller insects in dirt can also attract them as food. Therefore, make sure you get rid of circumstances that might be a food source for roaches.
Get rid of sheltering areas. You will find them mostly around dark areas of the house. Cracks and holes provide the right shelter for a cockroach. Most dark cracks and holes may inhibit many cockroaches. To get rid of them, cover up such openings and seal each crack. Make sure every corner of the house gets enough light to keep cockroaches away. So that sneaking roaches are kept away from the housing cover and seal all possible entry points of the ceiling.
Carry out inspection. Night time is the best to carry out an inspection. The presence of one breed could mean a possible infestation. Look out for any egg cases or weird smell. Get rid of droppings to avoid health complications especially for people with asthma.
Always keep your home Clean.
